Cold stress of newborn calves and lambs is a significant factor contributing to frequent death loss of winter births.
Roy-L-Heat is a life saving new livestock warmer and dryer receiving rave reviews from professional producers.
Roy-L-Heat is a box unit made of tough, high-density polyethylene. It's interior size provides adequate space for calves to lay down and to stand up when revived. A 110 volt heater circulates warm air totally around the newborn. It does not remove the instinctive identity scent, so waiting mothers promptly reclaim their rejuvenated infants. The heater is protected in a separate enclosure attached to the rear of the box and easily removes to make rinsing and disinfecting simple. Opposite the heater is a rubber "head boot" which permits the newborn to breath outside air when desired, yet holds the warm air in. The especially designed "attic vent" allows excess moisture to escape.
Animal health experts agree that hypothermia is a major cause of winter calf deaths unless promptly dealt with in a professional manner.
Roy-L-Heat is used in saving thousands of fragile new lives.
"We had a calf born in February. That night it dropped to 10 degrees below and by the time we checked him he was covered with frost and appeared to be dead. He was still breathing so we put him in Roy-L-Heat. In a few hours the calf had regained strength and was on his feet. The Roy-L-Heat works great. I've never seen a calf that cold ever come out of it." -- Norman Lorang, Great Falls, Montana.
