Here at DCCI we are honored to be a part of the Norigard success. Thanks Ralph for buying semen and for providing this report of your starting successes. Send more photos. Darol
SCC Norigard (Drag Iron spelled backwards) is a beautifully colored calf w/ good hip, length, trim underline, and above average horn growth. We had very little experience with showing cattle, but had an opportunity to place him into the capable hands of Amy & Haley Weatherholtz to make the show circuit in Texas. In his first show, he placed second in his class at the Houston Livestock Show, which qualified him for the World Show in August. We had the opportunity to watch when he competed at the Stillwater Shootout in Stillwater, OK, where he won his class, won Junior Bull, & took Reserve Grand Champion Bull honors in the Youth event. In the Open event, he won his class & Grand Champion Bull. Needless to say, we were thrilled with his success. He continues to impress show judges and show clinic attendees with his gentle demeanor and ability to "set up" quickly and calmly. One showmanship instructor even dropped the lead and walked around him as he remained still for all to observe. He has been a pleasure to watch develop and we plan to retain him as a herd sire for our small herd of longhorns.
We owe you a great big "thank you" for your excellent breeding program and your choice to reasonably price bull semen, which enables small breeders, like us, to compete against those with quite a bit more resources.
Thank You So Much,
Registered Texas Longhorns since 1967
