48 Years of Longhorns
During nearly 48 years of owning, competing and raising registered Texas Longhorn cattle I have seen most of the good ones. Photos were taken. I knew the owners, spectators and appreciators of this great breed. For those who aren't old as dirt, and never saw these foundation cattle, I have added a photo and written a biography of 81 of these old historic cattle. I have 11 more to write and that will be the cattle I was mainly appreciative of and have watched their genetics. Each of these have been published on Facebook under these accounts - Darol Dickinson -- Longhorn Friends - ITLA International Texas Longhorn Association. If you want to read them all together go to the Dickinson Cattle Co ranch site at http://www.texaslonghorn.com/longhorn_info/famous_cattle/index.cfm. Some might also be on Facebook Dickinson Cattle Company and Longhorns Head To Tail Tours. If you think Longhorn people are crazy, cautiously sneak into the horse world and hold on to the reins for dear life. I am also doing horse bios.
I have posted on Facebook 79 horses, some people and written personal notes about photo sessions where posed photos were captured of famous and not so famous horses. These photo/stories have been on Mike Kelly, AQHA Halter Horse History, Halter Horse Forum and Lee Jones. I have gone back over a year and recaptured all of them from the first. Many of you have encouraged me to place this in a book for sale -- answer, NO. However they will all be on line at www.texaslonghorn.com/horse. There are up to 60 more horse bios to come. For those who did not travel the thousands of miles, fighting the weather, snapping these photos, working with the colorful people; I did. Kindly enjoy.
