Several hundred acres of prime timber take up grass space at DCCI. As time permits, Locust trees over 100 years old are cut and sawed into 4" square fence post and 1"x6"x8' board fence for DCCI. Locust are one of the three hardest woods and will last a lifetime. Other hard woods harvested at DCCI include Prime Cherry, Maple, Red Oak, White Oak, Poplar, Hickory, Walnut and Elm.
DCCI catfish up to 18 lbs and 28" long tour the lakes. The seventeen lakes are used by DCCI cattle buyers, business clients, and paying guest sportspeople.
Tall Thick grass at DCCI requires most cattle work to be done with Honda 4x4's. Normal horses easily tire when ridden in tall thick grass for only a few miles.
