Sonny Dee Bar

Sonny Dee Bar 11341

Dean Landers had me do a series of photos of Sonny Dee Bar when he was about 13 years old. Dean was the proverbial peddler and continued to sell with ever waking moment. Dean had just recovered from a heart attack and was up and going. He had a huge show barn with show and sale horses in rows as far as the eye could see. It was like a buffet where you could pick any sex, age, type or style you wanted. Sonny Dee Bar was such a pretty and flashy horse. I wished I could have taken photos when he was about 4 years old instead of showing some age. I posed him for side, read, front and head shots. He was equally correct from every direction and had stood for so many people he would just freeze until you shot up the film. He was a great halter horse and sired a lot of fancy progeny. Dean did a great job getting the right mares to him and getting show foals in strong hands. He was sired by Win Or Lose by Mr. Bar None. I thought it was commercial and low-class for the photographer to place their name large on a photo. I either did not put my name on the front of the photo or else used a small logo like the one in the lower right shade area.
