Double Bid

Double Bid 11430

These photos were taken for Clarence Scharbauer, Jr. when Double Bid was at White Rail. Most of these runners were only photographed from the side. I liked to do fronts, rears and other angles that would give a horseman a good opinion of the anatomy. I encouraged stallion owners to make full disclosure in ads like this one. He was a powerful animal. He was a wrestling match to photograph. John Coffman handled him for me. John had a huge Almond tree in his yard with the biggest almonds - about 2" across. They were crunchy paper shells. Everyone who walked through the yard would pick up a hand full and munch on them. John said he always gained weight in Almond season.
