Dickinson Cattle Co's 51st Anniversary Customer Appreciation day is a wrap. And, what a great day it was. Over 200 people came through the stone entry way. Great barbecue brisket and Ohio boneless fillets of swinging steaks were enjoyed to the fill. Live demonstrations to help producers develop a serious business plan of hoof trimming without a chute, bloodless castration, hoof care with a tilt table, the satellite Horn Showcase official measuring contest, calf branding the right way, ranch pasture bus tours, educational info on world beef politics, photography of the world's most gentle steer, kids running and playing, hand feeding famous cattle, seeing 6 TL cattle over 90 or 100" T2T, how to remove a critters head from panels easy, the trail drive figure eight horn capture, all of it. No contest, no high pressure hype to purchase. Great new and used friends. Here are a few photos. If you were here, you know. If not, plan to attend next year.

One young bull was a volunteer for castration. He did not want to participate. He did.

The tilt table was used to repair a damaged toe with instruction on hoof corrections.

Unbelievable great ranch food by the plate fulls. Great taste to the kazoo.

The old 1880 style draw-down technique was displayed for many medical uses.

Educational seminars were soaked in like a sponge.

During the day 36 cars of people not attending the scheduled event came to the LHTT store to purchase famous TL beef.

Joel Dickinson demonstrates how to remove a critter's head from panels without wrecking or torching the fence.

Some Texas Longhorn people saw Dutch Buelingo for the first time.

Dickinson family, employees and volunteers.

No unruly conduct by untrained steers was allowed. Volunteers quickly dog-piled this one so no one was harmed, no blood was shed, no one throwed ice.

Change is sometimes good. He was changed as the old-timers call it.

Hot iron branding was free to those who brought cattle. Joel Dickinson shows the correct way to get a perfect brand.

The highlight of the horn measuring was Silent Iron, age 5, who was 98" T2T.

Several specimen polished skulls were purchased at the LHTT store as well as great beef. (These are not European skulls, but Western American style polished skulls.)

Even cattle baron James Coffelt got all the food he wanted.

At DCC we were honored that 21 Texas Longhorn events were held on Sept 29 and a huge crowd showed up at our 51st annual event. A great group from Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia and all over, chose to attend. Thank you.
