Baby Calf - Tuxedo

Tuxedo was born 4-24-2015. His sire was the $165,000 Cowboy Tuff Chex and his dam a clone of 91" Shadow Jubilee named Sweet Jubilee. He weighed 66 lbs at birth and had a life of planned genetic adventure ahead for him, since the first day. He was a natural calf born in the Dickinson Cattle Co Amarillo pasture, at Barnesville, Ohio.

Tuxedo got the paintbrush D brand

At weaning time he received the sanitary seal of approval with the Paint Brush D brand on the right rib and his ID number 229 over a 5 (means 2015) on the right hip. Most longhorns are branded on the left side so DCC brands on the right. It leaves a clean side if western buyers want to add their own holding brand. By this time his tiny specks were starting to sprout and the rich brindling was quickly making a vertical image.

Tuxedo

As the early Ohio March grasses of Kentucky Blue started the herd sire look begin to pop all over Tuxedo. He was developing the thickness of Tuff and the long tall frame of the Jubilee family. He was registered in ITLA -- a special short name of TUXEDO was selected. Tuxedo was an unused name and represented a formal good looking appearance, which fit this young bull.

Tuxedo - 13 months

By 13 months he showed the style desired to have his own pasture of DCC heifers for the Summer. From that group some very fancy calves were the result.

Tuxedo - age two

Tuxedo, age two. His Winter, Tuxedo spent in quarantine at Champion Genetics of Canton, Texas. He was tested for all the crazy things foreign countries require for import of frozen semen - everything from Brachyspina to Leptospirosis to Leucosis to hang-nails and isolation for months until he totally forgets his Ohio home. As a result, Tuxedo qualified for export of embryos to all European countries, Israel and semen to most other countries. He became the leading semen selling TL sire in Australia for 2017 and 2018.

Tuxedo - Age 3

Age 3, Tuxedo has all the style, height, disposition and brindle specks to the kazoo. After two years service at DCC he was purchase by Mike and Jamie Tomey (pronounced Tommy) of Bedford, Indiana. The Tomey's had purchased bulls from DCC starting back with Zover, by Zhivago who was born in 1993. Later they purchased several sires including Win Win, sire of Clear Win and Annex by Drag Iron.

Tuxedo now reigns over the Tomey cow herd for Fall calving at Bedford. Semen can be purchased in New Zealand, Australia and ($35) direct from Dickinson Cattle Co, Barnesville, Ohio. We wish Mike and Jamie the very best in every way - true, great friends and great Texas Longhorn producers. Real people.
