It is a great joy to breed and raise cattle that win
shows. It is great to see your grand kids out there in
the ring working at being professional show people --
its high energy -- electrifying! However, even above
that is to see many others showing, winning at the
highest levels with cattle DCC has bred, planned and
appreciated -- is even more stimulating. The joy of
owning great genetics is a good feeling.
This past weekend at the Houston Stock Show and Rodeo,
Winnin' Kid was Grand Champion in Texas' toughest
competition. He was shown by Sara Jennings and owned by
Kathy Palladini of Junction, Texas. Winnin' Kid was
sired by Joe Kid, a DCC bull sired by Jubal Jangler out
of Jester. His dam was Winnin' Streak by Clear Win, also
raised by DCC.
OL Likely, just an hour before, won Grand Champion
Female at Houston. She was exhibited by Lainey Lampier
and owned by John & Brenda Oliver of Malakoff,
Texas. Her sire was the DCC bull, Clear Play by Clear
Win out of Play The Jam by Jamakizm.
OL Outplay was Grand Champion Bull at the recent Fort
Worth Stock Show, also a son of Clear Play, shown by
Mark Oliver and Lainey Lampier with the loot. Fecal
remover, John Oliver behind bull.
OL Oversweet, with John and Mark Oliver won Grand
Champion Female at the State Fair of Texas two years in
a row, 2016 and 2017. OL Oversweet is sired AI by the
DCC bull Over Kill.
Carla Payne, head showing in back, exhibited this young
bull, TL Revolt, to Reserve Senior Champion Bull at the
Houston Livestock Show. He is a son of Clear Play -- how
about that? Look at the bone and substance on this heavy
muscled guy. Everyone says this is the way the future is
headed, not just horn, but horn and lots of thickness,
bigger cattle, quicker. This is what shows are supposed
to do -- identify the best and most valued cattle.
Dickinson Cattle Co would like to extend a heart felt
congratulations to great clients like Kathy, Carla and
the Olivers for using DCC genetics and having the wisdom
to present them in strong traffic at their best. The
Championship awards prove their superior skills and
planning. When you see them at the shows, say hello.
Sincere congratulations from DCC.
