Memo: During the Obama reign Namibia was approved for shipment of raw meat to the USA. Namibia is known historically for being one of the leading countries in Africa for Hoof & Mouth disease. Although shipping to the USA is slow and expensive, when native mongrel cattle in Namibia can be bought on the hoof from $9 to 20 it creates a very low cost for beef once in the USA.
Any guess why the USA cattle prices are so low?
Once in the USA, Namibian beef can be re-boxed and labeled
"PRODUCT OF THE USA." Although small specimens of Namibian
product have passed USDA inspections, as the volume increases to
huge boat loads, keep in mind it is not USDA inspected --- it is
NAMIBIAN EQUIVALENT inspected. It is coming your way and you
will be able to taste the difference. Each large food consumer
who buys the cheapest meat products -- hospitals, government
schools, rehab facilities, jails, meals-on-wheels, etc., will be
keeping smiles on Namibian faces. They must destroy the
USA farmers and ranchers to succeed -- and our ignorant elected
leaders are turning a blind eye.
The day may come when a USA steak house menu will list choices
of steaks from Namibia, Mexico, China, or the Amazon -- your
choice? DD

Namibian meat processor Meatco has sent the country's first shipment of beef to the US.
Making it the first country in Africa eligible to export beef to the US, the export deal is part of the African Growth and Opportunity Act.
After undergoing several audits, health and safety protocols since Namibia became eligible in 2016, the consignment was the first official commercial shipment to the US. This followed samples that were sent to the US for various laboratory tests to ensure all safety aspects were adhered to.
Under the final approval agreements, Meatco will be exporting boneless raw beef products such as primal cuts and beef trimmings as well as chuck and blade. The approval will enable Meatco to send 860 tonnes in the first year and by the fifth year, Namibia will be able to send up to 5,700 tonnes per year.
The consignment, which left Namibia via the Walvis Bay Port, is expected to enter US via the Philadelphia Port.
Namibia’s livestock industry is worth approximately N$3.9 billion annually, according to Meat Board 2019 statistics, with Meatco’s share around 50%.
