The 2025 Texas Longhorn Celebrity Calendar is finished. We picked them up today. UPS will pick up most of the sponsor's calendars today and some of you will have them as soon as the 23rd. Each of you should have received a UPS tracking number for 4 boxes of 75 each. Some of you are picking your calendars up at our 2024 Customer Appreciation day. I will set yours aside with a label on each with your name on it.
Now what?
Some of our sponsors (you know who you are) don't know what to do with 300 calendars and end up with most of them left over at the end of year. Please don't let this happen. There are many opportunities for you to use your calendars for Longhorn Promotion, Sales, Outreach, Customer Relations, etc...
Here are some things that we do with our calendars.
- Take them to the Sherrif's office and give them enough calendars for all the deputies. It is amazing what the small gesure can do. All the local deputies know who we are and are amazingly helpful if we have a cow out, and have even cut us some slack when stopping the rusty old ranch truck that probably should never leave the ranch. Same with local small town police. Probably no use with the State Patrol. They don't cut anybody slack.
- Be sure to get some to your local 911 dispatcher's office. They need to know who you are and if you ever have cows out, they will remember and can be extremely helpul. (ours is in the same building as the Sherrif's office.)
- Drop off enough at your local courthouse for every judge, prosecutor, clerk, and janitor can have one hanging in their office. We had some legal problems years ago and the out of town lawyer was meeting with the judge and noticed our calendar on the wall behind the judge's desk. Not saying the judge favored us in any way, but that out of town attorney was a lot more accomidating in negotiations.
- Take a few and drop off at the local Department of Motor vehicles. These folks usually feel unappreciated and the small token will make them remember you next time you have a car to register or you need to renew your driver's license.
- Drop off some at the local Soil Conservation office. You want these folks to remember you as nice person. If some program crops up, they may be more inclined to tell you about it.
- Hand one out with every cow you sell.
- Sell them in your gift shop if you have one.
- Take them to Texas Longhorn shows and have them redily available for prospective clients.
- Take some to your kid's school for the Principal, staff, and teachers.
- Drop off a couple at your local Tractor Supply and/or Rural King, or other feed stores.
What to do with previous year's calendars
- Donate to art programs. Elementary schools and other programs for kids will often gladly accept donations of art supplies. Your old calendar pages can be cut up and used in collages, presentations, and art projects! Don't ignore the kids. Some of these kids will see the photos of the amazing Texas Longhorns cows and decide that "when I grow up, I will have Texas Longhorns." We have numerious customers that were started on their path to Texas Longhorns with a calendar or even a post card.
- Recycle calendar photos into envelopes - Â Yes, they make gorgeous envelopes and they are so easy! You can see how to make them at Instructables.com or upcycled-calendar-envelopes
- Create colorful placemats - Take pages from the calendar and laminate them. You now have placemats perfect for kids to craft or snack on.
- Frame your favorites.
If you do all these things, you will run out of calendars fast and will have a lot of appreciative folks. People will remember you as a kind and generious person. Hopefully some of them will be interesting in getting into the longhorn business someday.
If you run out, we will make you a great deal on another box of 75. We normally wholesale an entire box of 75 for $300, but to sponsors, you can order additional boxes for $100 plus shipping.
