DICKINSON CATTLE CO would like to express gratitude to each and all
involved in the annual BLUEGRASS FUTURITY. To Bill Hudson, Dan Huntington, Joe
Sedlacek, the volunteers (dozens of great workers), Jim Ackers (CEO of Bluegrass
Stockyards), the many sponsors, donors, futurity judges, Chase Vasut, (comic-color),
and a cast of thousands (auctioneer embellishment)
The Bluegrass reportedly was the largest number of entries of any
futurity. DCC had entries in 8 classes and won 4 firsts and 2 seconds. Considering
nation-wide competition it was a great honor to win in this tough competition.
Indications are that the Mid-West and southeastern USA may quite well be the
growth areas for the Texas Longhorn breed.
PACK ROCKS won class #5 with 37 entries. Pack Rocks is the
first WT Kid Rock progeny to show. Her dam is a half sister to Drop Box out of Jam
Packed. Born 3-31-23, shown right off pasture, then back to pasture the next day.
No clipping, washing or trimming. Owned by DCC.
GIVER won class #12. Giver is a son of Ice Pick by Rural
Safari Son out of Flair Child by Flair Galore. He was born 10-11-22. Owned by Chad Dickinson
FULL THROTTLE won class #14. Full Throttle is a son of Rural
Safari Son and out of Dragon Smile by Drag Iron. He was born 4-9-22. Owned by Joel
Dickinson
BOX OFFICE won class #10. Box Office is a son of Drop Box and
out of DBLR Jet Over by Jet Black. He was born 4-18-23. Owned by DCC. Box Office won
the largest class of bulls with 31 competitors. He was High Point Bull
winning the $1000 High Point award presented by Blue Moon Partners.
The 4 winners were sired by 4 different bulls, all prominent in the
DCC program.
