Tool boxes may have all kinds of useful or worthless tools. The best hammer in the world won't saw a board, the best pipe wrench won't drive a nail, etc. The answer is to have the right tool for the right job.
No matter how many bulls are in a pasture, nor how expensive they may have been, will they do the job and move genetics forward for values? Are they the right tool for the herd of cows they are working? Some cow herds may be small, blaaa colors, little horn or high horn, you name it. The right bull can fix the genetic weakness or the wrong bull may just continue the herd down the same moderate or ordinary direction. Every producer's job is to select bulls that will raise the herd to a higher value level.

Each of the Dickinson Cattle Co bulls has a specialty purpose:
IRON SPAN sires a rich red spot pattern with long flat lateral horn. He sires the most horn of any son of Drag Iron.
POINT MARK sires the most muscle with trimness—a very unusual combination.
SHOWMAN is homozygous black. All his calves are black or black and white spotted no matter how dish-water colored the cow is. He weighs over a ton and has great show type.
JAM BOX sires the most frame, dark chocolate brindle, futurity quality and with his over 102.5" T2T hopefully horn to the kazoo.
POINT WISH with over 2100 lbs and mid nineties T2T is adding many virtues, especially muscle. Due to his mostly white color he is only bred to solid dun, red, or black cows. And, he was ITLA All Age International Champion Bull.
GIVER is a speck-specialist. He is a futurity winner for correctness and sires the most flamboyant calves at DCC. What do you think of his calves pictured below?
